Make and Take Fun!

This is our make and take that we will be doing this Thursday July 30th. Cindy will be demonstrating the art of punch needle. This is the sweet little snowman punch needle project you will be making. The class will begin at 5:30 and the cost is $5.00. All the supplies needed will be provided. Call the store or stop by to sign up!

Last week at our floral Floral Make and Take there were some wonderful creations. Karen, one of the participants shows us her beautiful work!

Altrusa Day - Saturday July 25th

Be sure to join us at the shop on Saturday July 25th. We have designated this day as our Christmas in July Altrusa shopping day with 25% of all purchases to be donated to our local Tiffin Altrusa.

Tiffin Altrusa will be using these funds for Seneca County community service projects. This is sure to be a fun day at the shop with refreshments, door prizes and find a gift. We have our regular items ......... Home Decor, Florals, Candles, Hanging Baskets, Country Furniture, Primitives, Antiques, Jewelry, Gourmet Foods and much more. Christmas Florals - Thursday July 23

On Thursday this week we will be doing two Christmas floral "make and take" demonstrations. They will be during the evening from 5:30 - 7:30. With Margo you will be creating this beautiful candle stick centerpiece floral. The cost of Margo's make and take is $25.00.

With Deb you will be creating this wonderful mantle piece floral. It would look great on a table or mantle. The cost of Deb's make and take is also $25.00.

If you can't decide which one to make you can sign up for both! If taking both classes the cost is $45.00. Each class includes all supplies needed. The size of each class is limited to 5 and they are filling up quickly. If you are interested be sure to call and sign up as soon as possible.

We now have a calendar on the Blog! If you would like to take a peek at it, it is located at the top right hand side of the page. Just click on the link or - "Click Here to view our Calendar of Events". We have had a great response to our "Make and Take" Thursday evenings. This past Thursday Cindy demonstrated the "Cupcake Supreme". Cindy did a wonderful demonstration, very informative and so much fun! Unfortunately I forgot my camera so we don't have pictures! We have starting scheduling more "Make and Takes" for the month of July. "Christmas in July" is our theme and our make and takes will all be Christmas related. When you are in the Calendar if you click on the event it will open a window with a description of the class. We will be open on July 2nd until 8:00 but will not be having a "Make and Take" on this night. We will be closed on July 4th. But why am I telling you this when you can read it all on our NEW CALENDAR!!!

Shop with MOPS - June 25th

Such a nice bunch of ladies showed up Thursday evening for the Summer Bracelet "Make and Take" and it looked like everyone was having fun. The weather was just right and Angie held her class outside. She provided refreshments and samples of some of the different gourmet food items that she has available in the shop so everyone could eat a little while they worked. Pictured above is the class working on their bracelets and below are their finished creations!

Cupcake Supreme! Make and Take - June 25

Cindy will be demonstrating how to make this lovely cupcake for our "Make and Take" on Thursday June 25th from 5:30 - 7:30. The cupcake really is more like a mini wedding cake perched on top of glass. It is decorated with a bow and a little tea light under the glass. They would make a stunning addition to a bridal shower or could easily be adapted for other occasions. This "make and take" class will be $5.00. Call to Sign Up - Summer Bracelet - June 18th!

This sweet little "Summer Bracelet" made with Saworski crystal beads and a charm will be our "Make and Take" for this coming Thursday (June 18th). Angie will be doing this demo. June Happenings at the Shop

We have several exciting things happening in the month of June at the shop. In the month of June we will be extending our hours on Thursdays! Instead of closing at our usual time we will be open until 7:00 pm. We will also be offering "Make and Take" Demonstrations from 5:30 - 7:00 each Thursday in June.

We thought that since June is typically a "Bridal Month" we would theme our demonstrations with that in mind. Doing demonstrations that will be helpful for Brides but also can be adapted for anyone to use.

Demonstrations we will be offering this Month:
June 4th - Bow Making Demonstration.
June 11th - Deb will be giving a demonstration on how to make a tussie mussie.
June 18 - Angie will be doing a Jewelry demonstration.
June 25th - Cindy will be demonstrating how to decorate cupcakes.

If you are interested in attending any or all of our "Make and Take Nights please call to register as this will help us in our preparations. We know how hectic life can be so if you are unsure if you can make it until that day.....last minute drop ins are always welcome.
This is something that we would like to continue throughout the year. So if you have an idea for a demo that you would like to see offered please let us know. You can leave a comment or tell us when you stop at the shop!

The week is quickly vanishing. Don't be caught empty handed on Mother's Day! Here are some more great gift ideas.

Perhaps Mom would like some new artwork for her home. We have an abundance of beautiful art and pictures in the shop in all styles and sizes.

These just arrived yesterday especially for Mother's Day. They are really cute and have wonderful sayings. Some even feature a clock right in the picture. These a just a sampling there are more in the shop!

We also have hand painted art in the shop. Here is Pam holding one of her paintings of Molyet's Farm Market.

Pam has many painted items in the shop along with some other items like this little bench.

Margo also has some great paintings......unfortunately my photography skills did not work out well when taking the pictures of her work. Be sure to stop in and see how really wonderful they are.

Maybe Mom would like something a little out of the ordinary. Sue has some altered art paintings in the shop.

She also has some handcrafted primitive sampler pictures if Mom likes Primitives.

There are many, many more pictures in the shop to choose from. I will leave you with just a few more examples.

Florial Delights for Mother's Day!

Flowers are always a great way to express your love. And what better time to do that than on Mother's Day.

Several of the gals in the shop have floral designs. This is often a great choice for Mom. I am sure that she would be thrilled with any of these superb arrangements pictured below. To start off we have some delightful items that have been created by Deb.

Mother's Day - May 10th!

Have you found that special something for Mom yet? We can help in your search for that perfect gift. Over the next couple of days I will be spotlighting some of the items we have in the shop that would be wonderful gifts for Mother's Day. Many of the figurines in the Willow Tree collection feature Mother and child. We have just received a great assortment in the shop last week.
Something that every Mother would love is jewelry. We have a wide selection to choose from. Here are just a few of the great pieces we have in the shop.

One of the lines of jewelry that we have are Viva Beads. They are extremely popular with our customers. The pieces in the Viva Bead collection are made from handmade clay beads. We have a wide assortment of styles and colors to choose from. The word Viva means "a salute to life" which we think is a wonderful statement to honor Mom on her day and we are sure she will too!

Angie also has a wide variety of necklaces, earrings, bracelets and beads. Many are handmade by Angie. She has such a nice selection of colors and styles to pick from you will have a hard time deciding!

Another line of necklaces are the Dichroic Diva's line. These are handmade too. The have vibrant color and provide that finishing touch to any outfit.

Sample Saturday

Tomorrow, April 24th will be the first "Sample Saturday" here at the shop. Each month we will be having a "Sample Saturday". We want to highlight some of the wonderful products we are now carrying. We thought this would be a great way to introduce these items to you! Here are a few of the products we will have available for samples tomorrow....

Coffee from Chicago Coffee Roastery. This coffee product is available in the store in a "perfect pot-full packet. There is a delightful assortment of flavors to choose from:

Jamocha Almond Fudge, Scrunchie Munchie Caramel, Vanilla Nut Cream, Jamaican Me Crazy, Butterscotch Toffee, Chicago Blend, Chocolate Tiramisu, Cinnamon Nut Swirl, Columbian Supremo, Hawaiian Macadamia, Hazelnut & Cream, Irish Cream, White Chocolate Raspberry Truffle. If you prefer decaffeinated coffee...Columbian and French Vanilla are the flavors available.

We will also have dips made to sample. These dips have been made from mixes from Castle Creek Farms. The dips that can be made from these mixes are just great. Each package contains enough mix to make 2-3 batches of dip. Picnics, Graduation or just anytime they are easy to make and delightful to eat! There are several different dips to choose from: Prairie Fire, Hometown Dill Herbal, Country Spinach, Tuscany Mountain Sun Dried Tomato, Harbor Mist Seafood, Groothandels Sweet Pepper, Garden Garlic and Zephaniah's Horseradish Dip.

Spring Open House - Day One!

Highlights from the First Day of our Spring Open House.

Early this morning the Easter Bunny made a special trip to the "Street of Shops" to hide some Easter Eggs.

Now these were not ordinary Easter eggs. These were special 'prize" Easter eggs.

Each egg hidden in the shop contains a number which has a corresponding prize. When you find the egg you win that prize! We had many egg hunters today with lots of prizes given away. The Easter Egg hunt will continue throughout the Spring Open House.

Dawn greeted visitors at the door inviting everyone to sign up for our door prizes. We will be giving away a $100.00 gift certificate and a $25.00 gift certificate on the last day of open house. Be sure to stop by and enter to win!

Most of the vendors were in the shop today to answer questions about their products. Each vendor took their turn at the registers. Pictured above is Margo hard at work.

Spring has Sprung?

I know that it is hard to believe with all the snowflakes flying around this week but we really are in the midst of Spring! Here at the shop we are all preparing for our Spring Open House.

Thursday April 9th will kick off the first day of the Open House and it will run through Saturday April 11th. We will be open from 10:00 to 5:30 each day. Be sure to add this to your calendar as you won't want to miss this shopping extravaganza of fun.

This is the Something Special - A Street of Shops opening day and are we excited! We are creating this blog to share with you the happenings in our store. We have a eclectic selection of items from several different vendors: Margo Ardner, Pam Biller, Mary Jo Elchert, Deb Fuller, Cindy Lafountain, Angie Steinmentz and Sue Wickham. Our hours of operation are Monday - Friday 10:00 - 5:30 and Saturday from 10:00 - 4:00.
